Bernd Sebastian Kamps (* 1. Januar 1954 in
Wuppertal-Beyenburg) ist ein deutscher Arzt.
Werdegang
Kamps studierte in Köln. Er ist Autor und
Herausgeber zahlreicher medizinischer Lehrbücher (HIV.NET, HIV Medicine, SARS
Reference, Influenza Report) und Sprachlehrbücher (Französisch zwischen den
Hügeln der Venus und den Lenden Adonis).
1998 gründete Kamps zusammen mit seinem Bruder
Stephan den medizinischen Internet-Literaturservice Amedeo. Amedeo ist ein
kostenloser englischsprachiger Literaturdienst für Medizin und hatte Anfang
2008 nach eigenen Angaben mehr als 120.000 Abonnenten.
Inzwischen betreibt Bernd Sebastian Kamps
mehrere Webportale rund um medizinische Themen. 2006 rief er den „Amedeo
Textbook Award“ ins Leben, um Autoren zu belohnen, die medizinische Lehrbücher
als kostenlose PDF-Dokumente im Internet anbieten. 2007 folgte der „Amedeo
Prize“.
