On December 7,
2018,
the number of gastric cancer deaths in Japan in 2017 was reported from
the National Cancer Center in Japan.
Compared with
2016, the number of decreases was 300 people. It was a slight decrease of
0.66%. The population of Japan decreased about 1% during the same period.
Namely,
the mortality rate of gastric cancer has not changed.
In Japan,
eradication of Helicobacter pylori has been done to more than 18 million
people. Until now, over 200 billion yen in government expenses were spent.
However, there
is no effect of reducing the death number of gastric cancer in Japan.
