Obvious fact
1) IBD does not occur in the period of newborns and infants.
2) Affected age of IBD is at least 5 years of age.
3) IBD occurs most in 10-20 years old.

4) In Japan, ulcerative colitis was suddenly increase since 1977.

5) In 1975, in Japanese, intake of milk and dairy products (1 day) was beyond
the 100g.

6) Wheat intake of Japanese jumped (1.5 times) from 1975.

7) In Japanese, lactose intolerance reaches 85% when 6 years old.

8) In Japan, fermentable drinking becomes popular from 1975.
9) There is a relationship between IBD and Candida.
10) Candida increases at low pH.
11) Stool pH of lactose intolerance is 5 or less.
12) Candida can not grow in the control of T cells.
13) T-cell function is strong up to 5 years of age.
From these facts, Japanese IBD of pathogenesis is considered following.
By over-fermentation, such as lactose intolerance, intestinal pH is
lowered.
Opportunistic fungi (such as candida) to grow to grow at a low pH.
Final confirmation
In healthy human,
lumen become pH5 or less by the fermentation?
These figures were created from the data of the following article (1).
1) Bown RL, Gibson JA, Sladen GE, Hicks B, Dawson AM.
Effects of lactulose and other laxatives on ileal and colonic pH as measured by a radiotelemetry device. GUT; 15: 999-1004.
Currently, in Japan, foods which increase the fermentation in the gut are a boom.
If this hypothesis is correct,
it is not possible to stop the increase of IBD in Japan.
Medical cost exceeds than the national income from prebiotic industry.
